Power of Work Achiever Award
When a motorist ran through a construction zone, worker, Eugene Beverly, was struck and severely injured. Since the accident, Eugene needed relearn how to do everyday tasks like walking and talking. He was referred to Goodwill’s Retail Work Adjustment program.
Employment Specialist Mark Demeza worked with Eugene in Goodwill stores training him on processing items, cleaning, and communicating with customers. Mark saw continued improvement and noted that, “He was a really dedicated worker.”
Two years later, Eugene has improved his job skills while working at Goodwill. He feels more confident communicating and processing information. Eugene now works full time at the Ford factory as a health screener.
